Avant garde 2019
Choreographers
In 2019 Leja hand picked and organised all the choreographers and dancers. She took on the role of creative directing the show and choreographed a huge part of it. She contributed choreography in five parts of the show. From ballroom to hip hop and modern, she expressed different sides of her as an artist.
Žan Roj is one part of the dynamic duo Žan and Monja, who dominated our modern dance scene in Slovenia in the last 4 years. They have their own unique style that is both pleasing to the eyes and extremely difficult to execute. In 2019 they performed in the Relations part of the show, where they presented their duo and joined forces with another power couple from Štajerska, Marko and Klara.
Monja is one part of the dynamic duo Žan and Monja, who dominated our modern dance scene in Slovenia in the last 4 years. 2019 was a year of power couples. Klara, who is a contemporary trained dancer found love with a hip hop trained dancer Klara Lainšček and together they created mixture of both styles. As a part of Relations piece in our show, they performed their duo and joined forces with Monja and Žan.

Jošt started his dancing career at a young age but always stuck to urban dances. He moved to London in 2019 to pursue his commercial dance career. He taught at big studios all over London and is continuing to share his knowledge and love for dance anywhere he goes. He contributed to the Tribe part of our show. He created two feel good choreographies full of his flavour and a bit of partner work as well.
Brina Brecelj is a professional choreographer and dancer who started her journey in Slovenia. Growing up she trained in different styles but in the end her love for heels dance won. She is a force when it comes to technique and feminine movement. She created in the first part of the 2019 Avant-garde show. She brought together ladies from all over the country and together they represented woman power at it’s finest.
Aljoša is a professional dancer and choreographer who is currently one of the biggest house dance influences in Slovenia. He created the All around the house project with his friend Jaka Nardin. It initiated a big growth in the house community and it created a safe space for dancers to come back to the fun part of training. For our show in 2019 Jaka and Aljoša put together a small team of young dancers who absolutely killed their performance. It was true house.
Jaka Nardin is currently one of the biggest house dance influences in Slovenia. He is not only a dancer, teacher and choreographer but also a DJ. He created the All around the house project with his friend Aljoša Moderndorfer. It initiated a big growth in the house community and it created a safe space for dancers to come back to the fun part of training. For our show in 2019 Jaka and Aljoša put together a small team of young dancers who absolutely killed their performance. It was true house.
